In the first match of the series between India and Australia, India’s pacesetter Mohammed Shami stuns the Aussies with his lethal bowling. The fast bowler claimed five wickets on the flat trip of Mohali and just drilled through the strong batting lineup of the opposition. It was his second five-wicket haul in ODI format.

Mohammed Shami was making a comeback into the side after he did not get many chances in the Asia Cup. Team India persists with bowling all-rounder Shardul Thakur because he offers bit batting at lower down the order. On his comeback, he rubbed all the questions on his place in the playing eleven.

The destructive Australian batter guided Mohammed Shami’s first ball to the cover boundary, then he held his line and length and nicked Marsh in the safe hands of Shubman Gill on the wide slip. The partnership between Steven Smith and David Warner was looking very dangerous for the team as they were smashing the bowlers.

They were set on the crease and heading to a hundred-run stand, then he came for his second spell and went through Smith’s stumps to break the partnership that was creating problems for the team and could be a real threat.

In his third spell, when he came to the attack in the slog overs, Australian batters Marcus Stoinis and Inglis were on the crease, and they attacked the veteran pacer in the first few deliveries. Eventually Mohammed Shami helped Marcus stumps to disturb; it was his third wicket of the inning.

The debutant Matthew Shot came to the crease, but he was trapped with an off-cutter from Mohammed Shami. Surya Kumar took an easy and beautiful catch on the deep midwicket and helped the pacer pick his fourth of the match.

In the same over, he bowled another off cutter and crashed the wood of the Australian batter, then he celebrated his second five-wicket hall on the format.

After taking five wickets in the match, he expressed his happiness. Here is what he said:

"It is very important to bowl in the right areas and set the tone. Yes,  it was very hot out there. Surface was hardly offered, so the only option was to bowl good length and mix up your variations. It is always good when you put in the effort and get wicket. It's good for the team and for your confidence. I am very happy as well."

Mohammed Shami made a great comeback for the side as he claimed a five-fer and pushed back the opposition. He picked very big wickets like Steven Smith and restricted the Aussies to 300. With his 5th wicket of the match, he clubbed the array of most wickets (37) against Australia by Indian bowlers.
