South Africa was behind the series; they were playing to keep the series alive, and their star batter Heinrich Klaasen came at number five and bagged a stunning hundred of 174 (83) to help his team stun a victory against the mighty Aussies. Klaasen was picked as the player of the match for his destructive ton.

While batting first, RSA started very positively, as both the openers were looking sound while playing, and after a great knock by Heinrich Klaasen and a destructive hand by David Miller at the back end, South Africa posted a gigantic total of 416 against the strong batting array of Australia.

The right-hander came to the crease at number five on the batting surface of Centurion and showed great intent from his very first ball; he completed his century in just 57 balls and ended his inning with a huge score of 174 in just 83 balls; with this, he sealed his highest score in an ODI. In his first 25 balls, he was scoring run-up balls, but later he clutched his pace and hit 13 sixes and 13 fours in the whole inning. He became the difference between the two teams; he also threaded a quick-fire partnership with DavidMiller, 82 (45).

In the post-match presentation, Heinrich Klaasen expressed that it was a special day for him.

"I am trying to take everything in. It's a special day, and you try to take in everything. I can't remember a lot of the innings; I have to go back and watch it tonight. The wicket looked a bit slow, but Australian bowlers bowled in the right areas. We just spoke about taking the 35th over and taking charge."

He also expressed that the wicket got nicer to bat on later in the inning.

"It got a little bit better with time, and they went off in those good areas, and we cashed in later. The ball travels nicely in the outfield, so we knew we could score. It's also nice batting with someone like Miller; he takes a lot of pressure off me. We were thinking about 320 odd, and then it became 400," he added.

In reply, the Australia team could not even cross the 300-run mark; their wicketkeeper, Alex Carey, fell one step short of his 2nd ODI ton, and Australia ended up with a serious injury to their starting batter, Travis Head, who got a fracture on his figure.
