Dynamite left-handed Australian opener David Warner is set to appear in white with baggy green for the last time as he will say farewell from the test cricket against Pakistan. Warner hinted at his retirement from the ultimate format one year ago in an interview.
David Warner played a Pivotal role in Australia’s fruition World Cup 2023 crusade, finishing the mega event as the leading run-getter for the Mighty Australians. He went on to make 528 runs while averaging over 52.80 including two Prodigious centuries.
The left-hander, who has been very consistent in white ball formats, could not emulate that sort of consistency while wearing baggy green. Warner, in the last three years in test cricket, has been pretty ordinary in terms of form and numbers as well.
In 2021, he was averaging just 38; in 2022, the average went down to 30; and 2023 was more horrible for the dynamite, as he averaged just 22.8; he only scored one hundred in three years, which was the double ton that he bagged against South Africa.
The Australian Cricket backed him even with his ghastly form in test format; they stuck with the left-hander constantly, but his grasp on the opportunities went vacuous.
The first clash of the test series against Pakistan is scheduled for December 14–18, and a few days ago, Cricket Australia named a 14-member squad for the start of series in Perth. David Warner retained his place as an opener for the first clash against men in green.

Even though David Warner’s has not been riding on his primo form in five days game in the last three years, his numbers are still showing his brilliance over the years. He has accumulated 8487 runs in 199 test innings while averaging 44.4 with 25 stunning centuries. He also has 36 and a half centuries in his pocket.
