Ben Stokes chooses not to participate in the upcoming IPL season in IPL 2024

Ben Stokes, the captain of the England cricket team and star player, chose not to play in the IPL 2024. CSK purchased him at the IPL 2023 auction for a grand total of $16.25, but he was unable to play in all 16 games for CSK because of an injury. The star player himself chose to withhold his name for the for the coming IPL season in order to focus on his national commitments, even though the team in yellow had no intention of releasing him.

The all-rounder was one of the most expensive players in IPL history when the club led by MS Dhoni threw a lot of money at the last mega auction, bringing in a whopping 16.25 lakhs. Due to an injury, he was limited to playing in just a few matches in the yellow uniform during the previous season. Without their top player in the starting eleven, CSK went on to win the championship for the fifth time in the end.

Ben Stokes was supposed to be released from the CSK camp before to the Indian Premier League 2024 mini auction, but this was never expected because the yellow army was searching for a regular captain, and Ben Stokes fit the bill. Due to his decision to skip the upcoming IPL 2024 season in order to recover from knee surgery, they are now compelled to discharge the senior player.

In addition to the upcoming T20 World Cup, he will be captain of England's test team and they will play a five-match test series against India in the coming months. He wants to be healthy for these important games. His surgery for the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 was postponed since he had to come out of retirement to play for his nation in the major tournament.
