Gautam Gambhir reacts to RCB’s twitter post with gratified message

Former Indian batter and two-time World Cup winner Gautam Gambhir comes up with a warm and grateful reaction on RCB’s Twitter post for wishing the left-hander his 42nd birthday. RCB posted a joint picture of the left-hander celebrating his half centuries in the T20 World Cup 2007 and the World Cup 2011.

Gautam Gambhir turned 42 on October 14. On a special occasion, RCB’s official Twitter account wishes him a happy birthday in an emotional way by sharing a picture of his probably best innings of his career, with the caption "Always GG in the World Cup Finals, wishing the cricket legend a very happy birthday.".

He played a very important role in big tournaments like the T20 World Cup 2007 and the World Cup 2011. In the finals of the T20 World Cup, he crafted a brilliant knock of 75 to help India to a winning total. He also played a crucial role in helping India lift the World Cup after 28 years. He scored 97 runs in the final match, which helped India become World Champions.

Gautam Gambhir's contribution to big stages

He was very tough mentally; he scored in tough and pressure situations for the team; we saw his brilliance in the world T20I final when India were in trouble. He held his nerves and played very sensiblely through the inning against the quality bowling lineup of Pakistan to put India in a fighting situation.

In the 2011 mega event, while chasing a target of 275, India lost early wickets, and a partnership was needed at the stage. The 42-year-old turned player stood out to build partnerships; first,  he joined Virat Kohli and then MS Dhoni. He fell just three runs short of his ton, but he did his work very well. At the end, skipper MS Dhoni finished the match with a six over long on.

When Gautam Gambhir played for India, he played with full dedication and commitment for the side. There were many stages where he won matches and saved matches for the team under pressure and tough situations. Nobody will forget his contributions to the team.
